Breaking in a rebuilt comer 50 engine

The braking in process is a delicate one and affects the performances that the unit will develop. In order to make it properly we got up early and made use of the junior track in Rye House to prepare the engine to the main training session which takes place  in the main track.

First we left the engine idling for a few minutes, we let it running for about 5. Then we switched  it off  and allowed it to cool down thoroughly.  At this point Sergio started a session using only half throttle, the layout of the junior track in Rye house is perfect to naturally go on and off throttle every 2/3 seconds which is important to gently start wearing the engine components . After 10 minutes I asked him to start using full throttle. At the end of this 30 minutes long session the kart was ready to be driven at full speed on the main track.
